Rampage Soccer

Matt Aberant grew up playing youth soccer in Northern Virginia and played forward during high school.  He went on to play soccer at James Madison University, where he helped win two National Club Soccer Championships and discovered he was more of a natural midfielder.  He continued to play in adult leagues since graduating from JMU in 2002.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, the MDCVSA State Cup, and was also a member on the team who traveled to Iceland. 

Joe Adkins played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield.

Paul Amisano grew up on Long Island playing stopper for Long Island Junior Soccer League select & New York State/Eastern Region Olympic Development Program.  His all-time highlight is scoring a goal against the Italian National Team.  He was a four year starter at stopper, sweeper, and outside back for Binghamton University.  He received his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MDCVSA State Cup.

Robert Archuleta played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield and forward.  Before the Rampage, Robert played in the Philippines and with other military teams.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.  He was also a local youth coach in Panama City.

Dave Atkinson grew up playing youth soccer in England, and went on to play for Bristol Rovers reserve team in the English 2nd Division, where he played forward.  He went on to play soccer at Florida Tech, and then in the PDL for Cocoa Expos.  He continued to play in adult leagues since graduating from Florida Tech in 2002.

Craig Austill played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield and forward.  He was a local Panama City product and played both youth soccer as well as varsity high school in that area.

Gregg Bailey played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played stopper, sweeper, and defense.  He was a mainstay in the defensive group and was a team captain.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.

Kelly Barker played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield and forward.  He played high school soccer in Panama City before joining the Rampage.

Craig Beard played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly defense.  He played with military teams prior to joining the Rampage.

Jake Beeman grew up in South Carolina and began to play competitive soccer in high school while living in southern Maryland.  He went to Germany with the United States Air Force and played three years of organized fussball in the German middle tier.  He then played competitive indoor and outdoor in a St Louis MO premier league where one in four players had Division I college experience.  He is also a licensed youth coach.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, the MDCVSA State Cup, and several other local tournaments. 

Carl Bennett played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly center midfield.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he was in retirement after playing at the highest levels of professional soccer in the USA.  He played with both the Dallas Tornado and the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League (NASL) and also played with the US Under-20 National Team.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.  He was also a licensed youth coach and coached high school soccer at Mosley High School.

Nick Bianchini played indoor for the DC Rampage.  He helped run the AC Roma soccer team of the Washington International Soccer League (WISL); where several of the initial members of the Rampage in DC actually met.

Ryan Borck has played soccer since the age of five.  He’s played on numerous teams including his youth play with the 1984 Gold Rushers to his current adult play with the Rampage.  He relies heavily upon his bruising speed and intense play...and he acknowledges without the game of soccer, he'd be just another ordinary Borck.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, the MDCVSA State Cup, and was also a member on the team who traveled to Iceland.

Matt Bowers played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly defense.  He played with military teams prior to joining the Rampage.

Kevin Brisley played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played all positions, including keeper.  He played with military teams prior to joining the Rampage.

Dan Churchwell began playing in the youth select leagues of Raleigh North Carolina.  He continued his play in the adult amateur leagues of Northwest Florida and was the founder of the Panama City Rampage, who competed at the highest levels of amateur soccer in the state of Florida.  He has also played on competitive military teams and a competitive Italian amateur team while living in Verona, Italy.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, the MDCVSA State Cup, and was also a member on the team who traveled to Iceland.

Kevin Cooper played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield and forward.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played youth soccer in the Panama City area and then played college soccer at Presbyterian College.

Mike Copenhafer grew up playing soccer in Alexandria, Virginia.  He played sweeper for the varsity team at T.C. Williams High School.  His play resulted in selection to First Team All-Metropolitan during his senior year.  He continues to play adult soccer in Northern Virginia.

Josh Dailey grew up playing youth soccer in the Northern Virginia area and mostly played wing using his great speed and outside running ability.  He played for Southwestern Youth Association (SWYA) United, a competitive Division I traveling youth select team, which was coached by Major League Soccer and DC United’s Jeff Aunger.  He played varsity soccer at Fairfax High School and following high school, he went on to play for the University of Virginia's nationally ranked college club soccer team.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in regional indoor soccer tournaments.

John Davis played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played goalkeeper as well as defense.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played youth soccer in the Panama City area and high school soccer at Rutherford High School.

Neil Duren had tryouts with professional A-League teams in Indiana, Milwaukee, Long Island, and Minnesota.  He played Division I with the University of Wisconsin and enjoyed overseas play with clubs in Santiago Chile.  His youth travel team competed both nationally and internationally including tournament play in France and Sweden.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the Soccer Resort Potomac Cup and other local tournaments.

Joseph Eaves began his soccer career in his hometown of Chattanooga Tennessee.  He played for both select teams and his high school varsity team.  He continued his soccer career at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg Virginia.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the Soccer Resort Potomac Cup, the MDCVSA State Cup, and other local tournaments.

Andy Elliot played for the Panama City Rampage and was one of the driving individuals behind the forming of the team.  He was a team captain and one of the top scorers in the league.  He was a true goal-scoring forward.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played competitive adult amateur both in the US and in England.

Shown Epley started playing when he was nine years old.  He played high school soccer for Morristown West and then went on to play for the University of Tennessee's club team where he competed throughout the Southeastern Conference (SEC).  He played indoor soccer for various men's teams in Tennessee before relocating to the Washington DC area.  Shown has participated with the DC Rampage in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Futbolito 4v4 tournament.

Justin Fabeny played indoor for the DC Rampage.  He came to the Rampage by way of AC Roma.

Roberto Figueredo played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly forward.

Charlie Finkler bio not available.

Chris Foster played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly center midfield.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he was named by Soccer America as one of the top 50 high school recruits.  He played soccer at the United States Air Force Academy, where he was MVP in 1986, 1988, and 1989, NSCAA All-American in 1988, U.S. Air Force Adademy Athlete of the Year in 1989, and a finalist for the Herman Award as college soccer's Player of the Year.  He also played for the World University Games Team, the U.S. National B Team and the Military World Cup Team.  He also played with the Colorado Foxes, a professional team.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.

Jeff Gartman played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly defense.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.

Seth Geftic hails from Fair Lawn New Jersey where he played youth soccer through high school.  He played on several Maccabi teams, including the Silver Medal Winners at the 1995-1996 Pan Am Maccabi games in Buenos Aires.  His previous club was the New Jersey Rage of the North Jersey Amateur Soccer League's Premier Division.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in numerous local tournaments and is the social coordinator for the team working issues such as team trips, attendance at DC United matches, and community involvement.

Brad Givens played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly defense.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.

John Goicoechea played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly defense.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as four years of high school varsity with the Mosley High School Dolphins.  He graduated in 1996 and was team captain during his junior and senior seasons.  He died in a car accident April 29, 2001.  The Goicoechea family remains a well-known part of the soccer community.

Richard Gollwitzer played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played goalkeeper.  He participated in regional tournaments with the team and was also a licensed youth coach and a local high school coach.

Jeremy Greene grew up in the Northern Virginia area and began playing club soccer at age ten.  He competed in local Youth Division I with SWYA United; a team which was coached by Major League Soccer and DC United’s Jeff Aunger.  He played varsity soccer at Fairfax High School and went on to play club soccer at Clemson University.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in local tournaments and was also a member on the team who traveled to Iceland.  He is also a youth soccer coach.

Adam Grier played indoor tournaments with the Panama City Rampage.  He played goalkeeper.  Adam studied sports medicine and was the lead medical trainer for the Atlanta Silverbacks, a professional team in the A-League.

Mark Gutcher played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played defense.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played with competitive military teams.

James Hammer played indoor for the DC Rampage.  He came to the Rampage by way of AC Roma.

Jason Hirabayashi played locally with Southwestern Youth Association (SWYA) United, a youth Division I select team competing in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL).  He played varsity at Fairfax High School and was selected All-District, All-Region and Honorable Mention All-Met.  He was a two year starter and one year captain at nationally ranked, Spartanburg Methodist College, a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Chris Horton played outdoor tournaments with the DC Rampage.

Rich Hughes played outdoor for the DC Rampage.  He played midfield and defense.  Prior to the Rampage, he played in local indoor leagues as well as in England, where he played in various amateur leagues in and around London.

Christopher John began playing at age nine in Sierra Leone with the Sierra Leone Western Nationals Little League.  He played into high school and was a starting keeper for Woodbridge High School in Virginia from 1997-1998.  He continued to play after high school with Prince William Soccer Incorporated (PWSI) Roachlanders in the National Capital Soccer League, before eventually playing adult amateur with the Rampage.  He has played with the DC Rampage in local indoor tournaments as well.

Sheka Kamara played outdoor for the DC Rampage.  Prior to the Rampage, he played Division I soccer at Old Dominion University from 1995-1996 (CAA Champions in 1995).  He began playing for the Sheraton Team of the Washington International Soccer League (WISL) in 1997 and then played for Sierra Delta of the Alexandria Amateur League from 200-2003 (2003 league champions).  He also played on the 2003 US Continental African Tournament Championship Team.  He is also a licensed youth coach.

Serkan Kaygusuz played 4 years of keeper in high school, however a broken leg in the last game of his senior year prevented him from capitalizing on an athletic scholarship to the University of Maryland.  After a hiatus from soccer, he returned to play local amateur soccer in WISL with Penninsula FC covering their nets for two and a half years.  He also played with Granitech FC of the NVSL before beginning play with the Rampage.

Scott Kelly played indoor for the DC Rampage.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played college soccer and then both indoor and outdoor with various adult teams.

Andy Klasel played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played midfield and defense.  He participated in regional tournaments with the team and was also a licensed youth coach.  Prior to the Rampage, he played competitive adult soccer in the southeastern United States.

Chris Layden began playing soccer at age 4.  He has played all over the USA, beginning in Kansas City on travel teams and progressively moved up through the ranks onto better and better teams.  He played for military teams while in the Army and coached/captained his team in Korea to third out of 300 teams.  He also coached and captained his team in Fort Lewis WA to second place three years in a row.  He was also a member of the East-West Ambassadors when he was 17.  He is an active player with several teams in the DC area.

Michael Lepine played both indoor and outdoor for the DC Rampage.  He played midfield and defense for the outdoor team.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played in the southeastern United States with the Rock Hill South Carolina youth select team.  He played varsity at Northwestern High School.  After time off for college, he returned playing indoor and outdoor in Atlanta Georgia.  He also played with a local Dutch team in Amsterdam Holland, when he lived there for six months in 2001/2002.

Dan Lewis played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield and forward.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played youth soccer and high school soccer in the Panama City area.  He was one of the top players in the state of Florida and later played with the Mobile Revelers, a professional team in the USISL D3 Professional League.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.  He was also a licensed youth soccer coach and coached high school soccer in Panama City.
Kyle Lewis played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.

Stefan Lewis began playing at age eight in the Northern Virginia youth leagues and then played varsity at Annandale High School.  He played club soccer at the University of Virginia and then played while living abroad in South America.  He also works his skills through juggling and once achieved a 2000 count before letting the ball hit the ground.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, the MDCVSA State Cup, and was also a member on the team who traveled to Iceland.

Josh Long played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played defense.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.

Pat Mannion was never registered with the DC Rampage, however he carries a close bond with the team.  Surely, he would have been on the pitch racing at players like the insane madman he is...if it were not for his return, or probably more correctly termed, banishment...back to the kingdom.  We wish Pat all the best and that his separation from the Rampage is temporary.

Matt Makowsky played youth with the 1979 Prince William Soccer Incorporated (PWSI) Select Team of the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL).  He played three years on the Jefferson High School varsity team and was selected as 1st-Team All-District.  After high school, he attended the University of Virginia and played amateur while at college.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, the MDCVSA State Cup, and was also a member on the team who traveled to Iceland.

Tim Martin began his soccer career in the youth select of Long Island, then continued through high school and the Chavi team at Wake Forest.  Since arriving in DC, he has played with the top mens adult leagues.  He relishes being the go-to scorer and leading by example with hard work all over the field.  He was the league points leader for 2004 and made the top listings for points leaders within the league, the metro DC area, and the nation.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in numerous tournaments and was also a member on the team who traveled to Iceland.

Chris Mauney originally hails from Pittsburg Pennsylvania, where he played for the Beadling Soccer Program.  He also honed his skills playing varsity soccer for the Quaker Valley High School, with which he won two state championships and a state runner-up title.  He continued his playing career with the club soccer program at Wake Forest University until his graduation in 2003.

Gary McCubbin played for both the Panama City Rampage as well as the DC Rampage.  He played mostly midfield and defense with the outdoor teams.  He began playing at age eight & played on select teams since age ten.  He played four years of varsity high school.  He was selected in 1990 for an All-Star Team in Guam and took part in Micronesian Island tournaments.  He also played on competitive military teams.  He participated in local tournaments with both teams including the Florida State Cup.

Mike McCumbers played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly forward.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.  He also played with the Gulf Coast College team prior to joining the Panama City Rampage and operated the Rampage after Dan Churchwell's departure from Panama City in 1997.

Tim Meinkin played indoor for the DC Rampage.  He came to the Rampage by way of AC Roma.

Rashad Miller played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly forward.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played youth soccer and high school soccer in the Panama City area.  He was one of the top players in the state of Florida and later played college soccer at the University of Charleston, in South Carolina.  Following college, he played with the Charleston Battery, a professional team in the A-League.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.  He also was a member of the US Under-20 National Team.

Adom Mitkevicius played club soccer in Northwest Florida for over ten years.  From 1998-2000, he played in Italy for a local amateur team and participated in regionally organized, small-sided competitive futbolito tournaments.  Since he arrived in the national capital region, he’s played outdoor in the Washington International Soccer League (WISL), the Northern Virginia Soccer League (NVSL) and indoor at a variety of locations in a number of leagues.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, local tournaments, and the MDCVSA State Cup.

Ray Najera began his soccer play with Chicago club teams (Tanners, Pampas, Atlas, Leon, Homewood-Flossmor Traveling & United Serbs).  He won the 1988 Chicago High School Championship while with Mather High School (ranked second in the state) where he played goalie (1989-1990).  He played Division I at the University of Illinois, Chicago (1991-1995).  He’s played in DC since 1999.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament as well as local tournaments.

John O'mera played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.

Bryan Owen played indoor for the DC Rampage.  He came to the Rampage by way of AC Roma.
Tom Ove played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.

Shaun Pickering has played organized soccer since the tender age of seven.  He has played on numerous travel teams within his hometown of Middlefield CT.  He was a three year starter at Coginchaug Regional High School in Durham CT.  He has played internationally as a member of the United States Deaf National Soccer team, where he was a member of the first US Deaf Mens National Team to bring home an international trophy in the De Haerne Kortrijk Tournament, in Kortrijk, Belgium (April 2003).  Shaun enjoys being the consummate team player and takes pride in valuing team success over individual accomplishments.

Andrew Poulis coached the Panama City Rampage.  He learned the intricacies of soccer and coaching from growing up in Greece.

Dimitri Poulis played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield and forward.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.

Skip Pribyl played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played for the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.

Victor Priego started playing futbol when he was 6 years old with his grandfather who played professionally in Mexico with Atlas.  He grew up playing in Philadelphia and was voted All County in his senior year of high school.  In college he attended the University of Maryland and tried out as a walk-on for the #2 team in the nation.  He unfortunately didn't make that team, however he continued playing club ball at the university and progressed his skills.  When he's not on the pitch out-hustling the competition, he can be found on the sidelines coaching youth soccer for MSI.

Paul Recksiek played throughout his childhood and as a senior, was captain of his high school team (All-Long Island).  He ran the Chavi Intramural-League dynasty at Wake Forest University (three finals in a row with one win).  He’s an avid DC United/US National Team fan.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, local tournaments, the MDCVSA State Cup, and was also a member on the team who traveled to Iceland.

Colin Rooney played locally with Southwestern Youth Association (SWYA) United, a youth Division I select team competing in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL).  He played varsity at Fairfax High School, where he was also a captain, and because of his standout play was selected All-District.  He was a two year starter at nationally ranked, Spartanburg Methodist College, a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).  He has also played overseas summer leagues in both Ireland and England.

James Royston played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.  He also played with the Gulf Coast College team prior to joining the Rampage in Panama City.

Tim Sevigny played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played both sweeper and goalkeeper.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played with competitive military teams.  He played college soccer in Seattle as well as competitive youth soccer in that same area.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.
Scott Silver played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield.  He played locally in Panama City with both competitive youth teams as well as high school varsity.  He also played with the Gulf Coast College team prior to joining the Rampage in Panama City.

Robert Smith played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly midfield.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.

Michael Spillane started playing as a youth in the traveling select teams around Whitman, Massachusetts.  He went on to play high school at Xaverian Brothers High.  Following that, he played with various competitive amateur teams with numerous leagues and at various levels until relocating to the national capital region and eventually found his place as a veteran member of the DC Rampage.

Ron Stover began playing soccer within youth travel leagues, and continued to play while in high school.  He played club soccer at North Carolina State University (NCSU...Go Pack!!!) and then played competitive amateur soccer while living in England.  He also played with military teams competing in local and regional English tournaments.  He has participated with the DC Rampage in the MLS Futbolito tournament, the Soccer Resort Potomac Cup as well as other local tournaments, and the MDCVSA State Cup.

T.J. Teeselink played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly sweeper and defense.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played with competitive military teams as well as competitive youth teams in England.  He participated in regional tournaments as well as the Florida State Cup.

Steve Tussman played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly defense.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played with competitive military teams as well as competitive youth teams.  He participated in regional tournaments.

Avi Tuvyana played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly defense.  He participated in regional tournaments.
Mike Vail grew up playing competitive soccer in Panama City, Florida.  He continued his play through high school where he played forward for Bay High School.  He went on to play at Florida Southern College (D-II) and then club soccer at the University of Florida.  Mike began playing defense and midfield with the Panama City Rampage in 1995 and was part of their 1996 championship team who won both the league title and represented the Northwest Florida region in the Florida State Cup.  He continues to play competitive soccer in the Baltimore area.

Michael Weaver played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly goalkeeper.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played with the Nashville Metros, a professional team in the USISL D3 Professional League.  He participated in regional tournaments.

Doug Williams played for the Panama City Rampage.  He played mostly defense.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played with competitive military teams as well as competitive youth teams.  He participated in regional tournaments.

Michael Woodbridge played both indoor and outdoor with the DC Rampage.  He played defense with the outdoor team.  He began playing soccer at age seven.  He played with numerous teams throughout the US and overseas while he resided in Germany.  Prior to joining the Rampage, he played with a coed team in the Premier Division of the Capital Coed Soccer League (CCSL), in Washington DC.

Todd Wooten played both indoor and outdoor with the DC Rampage.  He played mostly stopper and midfield with the outdoor team.  He played high school soccer at Fort Smith Southside (1993-1995 Arkansas State Champions) and was selected Captain in 1995.  He played varsity at Hendrix College from 1995-1998 and was Honorable Mention, All-SCAC (Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) in 1997.  He was also team Captain for Hendrix College in 1998.  He has also participated in local tournaments around the nations capital with the Rampage.
